MONTREAL ? Future Electronics and Lumileds Lighting have formed Lumileds Future Electronics, a joint effort focused on delivering products, engineering, support and services that help foster the manufacture of lighting systems based on Luxeon LEDs. The venture is intended to facilitate the development of a wide range of products using Lumileds? Luxeon solid-state light sources, including general lighting products, automotive lighting, cellphone camera flashes, computer monitors, televisions, flashlights, and other applications.

Lumileds Future Electronics enables lighting system manufacturers and designers to engineer, prototype and manufacture solid-state lighting solutions. Services available through Lumileds Future Electronics and affiliated system integrators and component suppliers include Luxeon assembly, board integration, illumination systems, standard and custom optics, heat management solutions, optimized power solutions, and technical, design and manufacturing support.
Integration partners are part of the Luxeon Lighting Network, a pool of solution providers that have been certified for their expertise in various aspects of LED-related engineering.
?Lumileds Future Electronics provides customers with comprehensive solid state lighting solutions, tailored to their specific applications,? said Jamie Singerman, who heads the division for Future Electronics. ?We have made a major commitment to this program because of the phenomenal interest in Lumileds products. This is an innovative way to simplify the process of developing and delivering end products to help meet market demand.?
The initiative expands Future Electronics? four-year-old role as the exclusive distributor of Lumileds LEDs to create a single point of customer contact for sales, marketing and technical solutions. The effort involves a new Future Electronics division with dedicated Lumileds call centers around the world, factory-trained technical experts focusing solely on Lumileds solutions support, engineering resource centers offering technical design assistance, and referrals to Certified Solutions Partners. The division also provides worldwide Lumileds inventory, custom binning programs and 24-hour customer support.
