IBM ABORIGINAL STRATEGY PDF Print E-mail
MARKHAM, Ont. - IBM Canada Ltd. has unveiled a national strategy to expand its presence in Aboriginal communities, increase opportunities for Aboriginal-owned businesses and ensure greater participation of Aboriginal peoples in the Canadian economy.
In one of the first steps under the national program, IBM Canada announced a far-reaching agreement with the province of Manitoba that will strengthen the participation of Aboriginal people in Manitoba’s economy. Under the agreement, IBM will work with Aboriginal communities to increase employment opportunities, IT skills development, investment,  mentoring and by addressing barriers to full participation in economic opportunity by Aboriginal peoples and businesses.
 IBM Canada has also committed to developing an ?´Aboriginal People in Technology’ program, with the goal of increasing the number of Aboriginal people working in the technology sector and working at IBM Canada.
